Coughs- apply Breathe Oil, Rosemary, or Myrrh Oil to the chest and feet. I diffuse room with Breathe Oil at night. The OnGuard Throat Drops are amazing to use not only does it give you a dose of on guard but soothes your throat.
Runny Nose- rub a small amount of Lavender Oil under each nostrils and also on the bottom of the feet. Lavender Oil is a natural antihistamine. If your child is old enough to swallow a capsule, give them 3 drops of Lavender, Lemon, & Peppermint in a capsule daily.
Sore Throat- gargle a couple drops of lemon with warm water. Again use the Onguard Throat drops.
Fever- You can do this a few ways. You can rub the peppermint oil down the spine mixed with a little coconut oil to avoid burning. I also rub it behind the neck. You can also add drops to a water spray bottle and spritz it on the body not only does the oil help but the water helps to cool the body down.
Aches-
- apply coconut oil down the spine
- follow with 4 drops of Oregano Oil
- add 4 drops of AromaTouch Oil
- end with 4 drops of Peppermint Oil
- hot compress with a rice or bean pad for 10 minutes
Earaches- Rub 1-2 drops of Basil Oil, Lavender Oil, and Melaleuca Oil around the ear. Place drops on a cotton ball and place in ear. I also use a drop of frankincense Never drop oils directly in the ear canal.
Sinus Infection-rub Breathe frankincense and Melaleuca over sinus area topically.
The key to success is to start using essential oils as soon as you feel the first sign of a cold or flu coming on. We use the doterra drops often they have a nice taste so the kids dont mind eating one once a day :)
